7 Day Lockdown Extension – Elite Building Services update

20 July 2021 – 7 Day Lockdown Extension

This morning the current lockdown for a further 7 days. Restrictions are largely the same, although there are a few updates that we are so happy to share.

Construction sites remain open and some external works are now permitted at occupied premises! This is where works will be conducted solely outdoors and physical distancing can be maintained at all times and the worker has a valid ABN. Previous rules apply for this work where up to 5 people (plus a supervisor) can be onsite to undertake outdoor maintenance, repairs, cleaning and other building work, external home renovations and outdoor installations only, home solar panel installations, landscaping & gardening (up to 5 people are allowed on site inc. a supervisor for landscaping & gardening). Note: the outdoor workspace must be entirely separated from the occupied part of the house and workers must not enter the occupied areas of the home, even when the owners are not home.

Unfortunately internal works on occupied homes is still prohibited. Only urgent or emergency works may occur.

When you are on site:
• Masks must still be worn indoors, including on construction sites that are substantially enclosed and outdoors when physical distancing is not possible (unless an exemption applies);
• Scan into site via our HazardCo signboard for OH&S;
• Scan the Service Victoria QR code on site for contact tracing; and
• Follow our CovidSafe plan.

Please continue to review the updated list of exposure sites and if you have been at any, follow the DHHS instructions to get tested and isolate pending the outcome of your test.

Lastly, a gentle reminder to be kind. To yourself and to others. Your experience may change daily and that’s okay. I often have days where I feel like I’m killing it – and then other days where I feel like “it’s” killing me. You have to do what is right for you at the time and know that that is okay.

I know I may seem like a broken record, but taking care of your mental health in a time like this is so important – in fact it is vital.

We will continue to keep you updated and truly hope you are okay. Please comment below and let me know how you are doing.

Take care and stay safe
