I am so proud and grateful to be Australian.

We come together in trying times and I have been so fortunate to witness this firsthand and also to have been involved in volunteering through the bushfires and with our country’s wildlife, helping people through struggles and being very much involved in my local and broader community. It’s truly incredible to see the Aussie spirit in times of such difficulty and heartbreak.

It’s important to remember that we don’t just need trying times to come together and to remember that we are always ‘one’.

We can always share our Aussie spirit and share love and kindness – even it is a simple offer of a cuppa – to ‘be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody’.

I tear up each and every time I sing our national anthem and I sing it as a very proud Australian at every opportunity.

We have come so far in this beautiful country and we still have a ways to go. I hold so much hope for our future.
