Update on Restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne

25 May 2021

Updated Restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne

As of 6pm tonight (Tuesday), the restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne are updated as follows:

• Masks are to be worn indoors unless an exemption applies. This includes in the workplace;
• Private gatherings are to be limited to 5 people per day in a home;
• Public gatherings are restricted to a maximum of 30 people; and
• Schools, sports and workplaces remain open with the current CovidSafe restrictions that are in place.

What does this mean for building & construction?

• Face masks must be worn indoors at a building site where the roof and walls are substantially enclosed, unless an exemption applies. This means masks must be worn at our Maryknoll and San Remo projects from Wednesday, 26 May until further notice;
• Anyone who lives in Metropolitan Melbourne, but traveling to regional Victoria, please note that the restrictions travel with you, so you must wear a facemask indoors in a regional area and comply with the limitations on gatherings;

What can we all do?

It is vital that we each continue to comply with our Covid19 obligations, which means:

• Ensuring that we all have an up-to-date CovidSafe Plan in place and that it is being followed;
• Maintain social distancing where possible and practice good hygiene; and
• Everyone must scan into our jobsites via the HazardCo QR code. We will continue to check sign-ins and if someone is on site without checking in, they will be required to leave. We know it is frustrating, but this requirement is not going away any time soon and is simply a habit that everyone needs to take on when entering a jobsite.

Exposure sites

If you have been at any of the exposure sites, please get tested immediately and stay home until you receive your results.

Thank you

Thank you one and all for your continued hard work and compliance with the Covid Rules. We sincerely appreciate you scanning into site and following the rules and working with us to keep everyone safe and to keep our industry open.

We know this can be a stressful time and it is okay not to be okay with it all. If you are struggling please reach out for help. We are in this together.
